NLB receives Top Employer Certificate for the fourth consecutive year

7 February, 2019

In Slovenia companies priding themselves on the prestigious Top Employer Certificate can be counted on one hand. For the fourth consecutive year NLB is one of them.

Top Employers Institute, an independent global certification company, has once again certified companies for their excellence in HR practices and development programmes for their employees. This certificate confirms that NLB is investing intensely in the knowledge and skills of all its employees and has a responsible and systematic approach to introducing the new recruits to the organisation. In view of strengthening the culture of cooperation, we are intensely implementing mentorship and internal coaching and we share our experience in the workplace. In addition, we are identifying and developing talents and their careers. Most importantly, we are improving HR practices every year, upgrading them to follow the global trends.

“It is no small matter to be an NLB employee, as it takes special responsibility. With the knowledge and drive we possess and actions we take, all the employees of NLB influence the lives of our clients, families and communities at large, and since we are a systemic institution, our decisions in the end also affect development of the economy and society. This is why all our activities are well-grounded and professional and we do our work with great pride. It is no small matter to work in NLB also because of the ample opportunities for personal development and upgrade of knowledge and skills at our employees’ disposal, as well as stimulating and family-friendly work environment. I am glad to see that the Top Employers Institute has recognised our attributes again and given us this important recognition,” said Blaž Brodnjak, President of the NLB Management Board.

The report by the Top Employers Institute shows that our bank particularly excelled last year in the area of employee involvement in coaching and mentoring, as well as in the organisation of targeted trainings for closed groups. In addition, the introduction of a new IT HR system will enable us to upgrade key HR processes, such as management by objectives, staff selection, induction of new recruits, development and training, which will significantly modernise existing practices.

“NLB has once again proved to be one of the best employers in Slovenia – and this is no coincidence. Our employees are constantly encouraged to develop and upgrade their knowledge, so it is our job to offer them diverse trainings of the best quality in different areas. We believe that employees are engaged and successful when their work enables them to coordinate their career path with their family life. Employees are therefore encouraged to maintain this balance and, last but not least, the Family Friendly Enterprise Certificate is the proof of that. In addition to this, the Healthy Bank programme and the Bank’s Sports Association encourage a healthy and active lifestyle,” said Vesna Vodopivec, General Manager of Human Resources and Organisation Development.

NLB will continue to provide an even more encouraging work environment in the future. As the General Manager of Human Resources and Organisation Development says, existing practices will continue to be improved in the future and several new trends that are popular in the field of employee care worldwide will be introduced.

“Without doubt, challenges lie ahead of us that will require more flexibility from us in all areas, from more dynamic career paths, promotion of mobility within the NLB Group, more flexible system of rewarding to more flexible forms of work,” added Vesna Vodopivec.
