Use Your Smartphone and Pay with NLB Pay

On women’s day NLB as the first Slovene bank exclusively launched a new service NLB Pay – mobile wallet, which enables advanced payment of purchases on points of sales using a smartphone. NLB Pay is yet another modern digital solution, which will soon be available to all NLB Mastercard holders to enjoy a reliable, simple, safe and, most of all, user-friendly payment experience, which makes the payment process at the point of sale even shorter.   

NLB Pay mobile wallet combines the features of a standard payment card and the NFC technology built in smartphones, which enables contactless communication between a smartphone and POS terminal’s reader. The procedure to activate the service is simple and fast. A holder of any NLB Mastercard payment card can do it on their own, without any help from a bank officer, in just one minute. There is no need to visit a branch office. This way NLB Pay meets the users’ needs and makes purchases even easier. All one needs to do is to unlock the smartphone and make sure the NFC functionality is on. NLB utilises the existing method of contactless payments – hold it to the reader and pay. PIN will still be required for purchases over EUR 15 and for lower amounts you will just wait for the POS terminal to confirm payment. This ensures a simple user experience at top level security.

For whatever may come. I am certain that our latest service, NLB Pay mobile wallet, will make our users’ operations even easier.”          

Nataša Dulc Strahinič, NLB Pay project manager in the field of card operations explains: “The NLB Pay project is the fruit of excellent collaboration between Mastercard, Bankart and NLB. The first project meetings started sometime in the second quarter of last year and they were quite intense because we all had one thousand and one ideas and demands. This is why I am incredibly proud today of all the participants in the project; that together we managed to overcome yet another milestone in the digitisation of payment services and offer our users a mobile wallet. It is extremely important to us in NLB to be at the right place at the right time and with the right service for our customers.”

Boštjan Fabjančič, representative of Mastercard, Slovenia, concluded the official presentation of the NLB Pay mobile wallet with the following thought: “A good three years ago we introduced contactless cards to our users and they became part of our daily routine. The next step is linked to our bad habit and at the same time a necessity – a handy mobile device. The development of the mobile wallet will upgrade this story and contribute to an even stronger interaction between the bank issuer and the users. It is our pleasure that we are able to create the digital future together with our partners and pave the way towards the most up-to-date payment methods for all Mastercard holders.”   

Participants and invited guests made their first NLB Pay mobile wallet payment to the humanitarian project Botrstvo (Sponsorship), which continues last year’s humanitarian activity You can touch the heart without touching. In continuation the first presentation of NLB Pay mobile wallet was accompanied by the announcement of a fresh musical debut, the NLBlender project.
