Support to athletes

The Bank continues to support top athletes in Slovenia, who are the best ambassadors of the country in their travels around the world. It has been the Golden Sponsor of the Slovenian Alpine Skiing national team for the nineteenth year in a row and for the past three years it has been a major sponsor of the Handball Association, the Table Tennis Association and the Sailing Association. Together with them, the Bank was exhilarated about the excellent success achieved by Slovenian athletes at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

NLB Banka Podgorica supports Montenegrin athletes in basketball, football and tennis. The traditional NLB Royal Tennis Cup 2016 again brought athletes, business partners and the local community together

NLB Sports for Youth

To promote and encourage the responsible upbringing of youth, the Bank successfully expanded the NLB Youth Sports project and connected with more than 70 sports clubs involved in various disciplines from several cities in Slovenia. With extensive supportive content about fair play, a responsible attitude to the surroundings, and the importance of physical exercise in general, the Bank wishes to raise the level of sports and mutual sustainable action in different local communities in Slovenia.

Supporting professional sport

The NLB is a proud sponsor of the Slovenian Alpine Skiing national team, the Handball Association of Slovenia, the Sailing Association of Slovenia and the Table Tennis Association of Slovenia.

The Traditional NLB Wheel

The Marof sports hall in Novo mesto was the venue for the close of the 8th season of the NLB Wheel League, a regional competition organised by the Slovenian Paraplegic Association. Of the five teams from Austria, Italy, Croatia, the Republic of Srpska and Slovenia, the title was won by KKI Vrbas. The NLB donated two sports wheelchairs.

I wish to thank everyone for participating in the competition and contributing to yet another excellent season of the regional NLB Wheel League competition. Judging by the first responses, the league will be even stronger in the future as teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia are considering joining. A word of sincere thanks to the NLB, which has stood by us and this year purchased two sports wheelchairs, which were won by the KKI Vrbas and Castelvecchio teams.
