We kindly invite you to the photographic exhibition Threads of Vilenica, which will be on display until November 30, 2017. The accompanying event will take place on October 18, 2017 at 12.00 at the NLB Gallery Avla.
This year saw the 32nd International Literary Festival Vilenica, with which Higher Vocational College of Sežana has been cooperating for several years. Their students of design create a Vilenica Cristal Award made of stone, and their students of photography take photos throughout the festival and in the end prepare a closing photographic exhibition.
The main theme of this year’s festival was the relationship between literature and the world, how they interact and transform each other, which is reflected in its name: Threads of Vilenica. Photographers also make stories. During the festival they were trying to capture the authors in their most genuine moments, at the same time keeping in mind that the role of photojournalist or reporter is also capturing moments for archives. They observed the writers at their readings, symposium, presentations and on trips, and were therefore able to catch them in vivid discussions, when they just had a friendly talk and in those quiet moments, when they were deeply immersed in their thoughts. The students showed an extraordinary sense of people and space, thus conjuring up the atmosphere of the festival. Their photos offer new perspectives and different viewpoints.
Authors of the displayed photographs are: Jakob Gustinčič, Din Hajdarpašić, Tina Kosmos, Ana Rojc, Maja Oblak Rolli, Luka Škulj, Ivo Štefanič and Aleksander Zdjarski. These photographs were created under the mentorship of their teachers Katarina Sadovski, master of photography, and Jasna Klančišar, master of photography and assistant professor.
