NLB d.d. Communications
We take care of up-to-date and quality informing of all stakeholders and public segments of the NLB Communications. These include the clients and the general public, the employees, the press and the expert communities. Among other we prepare on-line articles, on-line and printed magazines, on-line portals and newsletters for them.
Advice for the clients and the general public
Slovenians are not very well educated in the area of financial topics. Even though the knowledge of how to handle money has a very important impact on the quality of life of individuals and families, and also on the performance of companies. Therefore, NLB d.d. regularly issues various printed and on-line magazines on-line sub-portals and newsletters for its clients:
- Families and individuals are educated about the handling of money, use of daily financial services, how to save and how to make large purchases through on-line advice, newsletters and the magazine Osebno.
- For the clients requiring the most complex financial services we prepare the magazine and newsletters Private.
- The financial knowledge needed for starting a company, everyday operations, financing of operations, management of operational risks and expansion of operations abroad is also shared via on-line advice, newsletters and the newsletter Business.
- We also share our advice on how to simply and efficiently manage finance with the general public via social networks. We are particularly active on the Facebook platform with two profiles – NLB and Klik generacija. In 2018 we added an Instagram profile to our activities on the social networks.
- We also publish our professional achievements, participation in events and our job vacancies via the platform LinkedIn where we have the largest number of followers among the competitive banks.
A purchase or a renovation of real estate is one of the largest investments in life, particularly for the families or individuals making such a decision for the first time and needing a loan to make it happen. To this end, we set up a website on how to build a home which offers a quick overview of all steps that a buyer has to take on this path, as well as a free-of-charge manual leading them from the idea to purchase real estate to raising a loan to living in a new home.
Employees
We take care of up-to-date and quality informing of all employees about the developments in the Bank and our services and novelties in the product range. We spread financial know how among the employees and above all take care that they are informed of all rights arising from the certified projects such as the Family-Friendly Company and the Top Employer.
The employee are informed via on-line publications (NLB Net); newsletters they regularly receive on their e-mail address; the bi-weekly newsletter “Pogled”; livestreams of the President of the Management Board; circulars for the employees, daily summaries of media publications about the NLB Group, which are available to all employees, etc.

Communication using social networks
With a total of 1200 publications on three platforms (Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram) the NLB addressed almost 50,000 followers in total in 2018. The reach of the publications was over 202 million and they were liked by 44,209 followers. In 2018, we added the visual platform Instagram to Facebook and LinkedIn where we have the largest number of followers among the competitive banks.
- Linkedin, where we had 4,735 followers in December 2018, is used for expert articles and presentation of our activities and experts, events that we organise or at which we share our knowledge, job vacancies and the Bank’s activities in the area of social responsibility. In 2018 we addressed our followers with more than 280 publications.
- Facebook is the platform on which the Bank has been present for the longest period of time. We have two active profiles, namely corporate NLB with 31,700 followers and Klik generacija with 12,349 followers (as at December 2018). In December 2018 the Klik generacija profile was used for presenting the introduction of the NLB Pay mobile wallet and we achieved great involvement results. We addressed our followers on Facebook with almost 900 publications.
- Instagram profile was only created in the second half of August; we had 90 posts and reached 640 followers.
Journalists and expert communities
The relationship between the Bank and the media and other expert communities is based on open and professional co-operation, which means that the press, the expert communities and the representatives of the NLB Group comply with the rules dictated by their professional status.
We make sure that the public is regularly informed of all relevant developments in the Bank and in relation to the Bank, and provide quality replies to journalists’ inquiries.
